Presentation of the program
The Nursing program, therefore, assumes the profession as a discipline linked to the health sciences, focused on the care of the individual, the family and society with humanistic emphasis and in primary care focused on the integral care of human health. Likewise, the research and entrepreneurship axes that are transversal to the development of the curriculum make this academic offer innovative and based on the achievement of high levels of excellence in the preparation of nursing professionals.
For this reason, the curriculum includes, in the different academic areas, the development of curricular strategies that encourage students not only to learn how knowledge is produced, distributed and used in the globalized world, but also to study and understand the integral nature of science, health, research, innovation and artistic and cultural creation.
Likewise, the Nursing program of the Navarra University Foundation - UNINAVARRA- is aligned with the institutional values, which are considered fundamental for the transformation of students and allows unifying criteria for action.
The mission of the Navarra University Foundation - UNINAVARRA is to train nursing professionals with a high academic and scientific value, research spirit, educational and entrepreneurial innovation, promoting a sense of professional belonging, teamwork, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, construction and application of scientific knowledge, and of themselves, based on ethical and moral values, self-discipline, with a great social sense, responsibility and leadership; through the application of the tools of their profession and discipline in the care of the person, the family and the community, generate processes of human and social transformation.
The Nursing Program will be recognized by the local, regional and national community for its capacity in the integral formation of nursing professionals with human quality, creative and innovative attitude, generators of their own models and intervention schemes with emphasis on primary health care and integral health care of the individual, the family and the community.

The UNINAVARRA graduate will be a person with an autonomous life project and with a view to personal and social growth. For this, the UNINAVARRA graduate must be:
- A being restless to offer solutions to the problems of their environment, characterized by being a nursing professional who, through respectful service and solidarity in favor of others, rescue the sense of being as an individual, family and society, as well as being an active player in contributing solutions to the problems experienced by the region and the country.
- Promoting technological and scientific development from an ethical perspective that prioritizes human and social values, being a protagonist of teamwork for the development of health, with projects of mutual cooperation through interdisciplinary relationships, social interaction and consultation, promoting work with other disciplines for the identification, analysis and solution of health problems that, due to their complexity, require an approach from different knowledge and the linkage with other social actors.
- Leader in the various sectors at the institutional, social and community level in which he/she operates, and is a manager of an environment in which justice and respect for the individual, the family and the community are prioritized, based on the application of current regulations and collective interests of the region, the country and at the international level.
- Critical of their environment and with a proactive capacity to address social, technical and scientific problems of their environment, participating in the processes of improvement of the General System of Social Security in Health and the provision of health services and quality of care.
- Leader in the management of social projects, operationalizing them from the institutional or independent business perspective, as a business generator and/or manager of health or social projects.
- To practice the profession with knowledge and skills in health education and management techniques as a first-hand tool to intervene in the new health systems and services, as well as in the application and adaptation to the current regulations of the general social security health system.
Occupational profile
The nursing professional will be able to work at local, regional, national and international levels in health promotion companies (EPS), health service provider institutions (IPS), management, surveillance and control institutions such as health secretariats, Ministry of Social Protection, Superintendence, National Institute of Health, educational institutions at basic level, higher education, formal and non-formal education centers for preschool, school, adolescents, adults, elderly and people with disabilities, governmental and non-governmental organizations, service companies and productive level at dependent or independent level, among others.

Innovación en Salud: UNINAVARRA Lidera Jornada de Simulación Interprofesional en el HUSAC
Durante el primer semestre del 2026, el programa de enfermería de la Fundación Universitaria Uninavarra lideró con éxito la primera práctica interdisciplinaria académica de vanguardia en las instalaciones del Hospital Universitario Simulado de Alta Complejidad (HUSAC). Estuvo enfocada en la atención integral de un paciente pediátrico con dificultad respiratoria, implementando la metodología de aprendizaje Basado en retos (ABR)
Este espacio de aprendizaje tuvo como propósito central fortalecer las competencias clínicas, comunicativas y de trabajo en equipo en estudiantes de los programas de Enfermería, Medicina y Tecnología en Radiología e Imágenes Diagnósticas.
Esta dinámica permitió a los futuros profesionales enfrentarse a la toma de decisiones en tiempo real, priorizando la seguridad del paciente y la efectividad en los procedimientos diagnósticos y terapéuticos.
Con la implementación de estas metodologías de alta fidelidad, el Programa de Enfermería de UNINVARRA reafirma su compromiso con la formación de profesionales líderes, altamente competitivos y listos para integrarse con éxito en equipos de salud interprofesionales.
Éxito institucional: Enfermería obtiene por primera vez el título del San Pedrito UNINAVARRA 2026
En el marco de las tradicionales fiestas sampedrinas que visten de folclor y alegría a nuestra región, desde el Programa de Enfermería celebramos con inmenso orgullo la participación de nuestra comunidad en la reciente edición del certamen institucional San Pedrito Uninavarrista 2026, organizado por la Fundación Universitaria Navarra (UNINAVARRA). En este encuentro cultural, nuestro programa selló una participación histórica al quedarse, por primera vez, con la corona del certamen.
La encargada de alcanzar este hito fue Paula Alejandra Polanco, estudiante de octavo semestre y digna representante de las aulas de Enfermería, quien cautivó al jurado y a los asistentes con una magistral y majestuosa ejecución del Sanjuanero Huilense. Su gracia, precisión en los pasos y carisma en el escenario le permitieron alzarse con el máximo galardón de la noche; un triunfo que resalta con creces el compromiso que asumimos desde el Programa de Enfermería y UNINAVARRA con la formación integral de nuestros futuros profesionales. Así, más allá de la excelencia académica, el rigor científico y el sentido humanístico que caracterizan de forma innata al cuidado de la salud, nuestra casa de estudios demostró una vez más que el rigor profesional convive en perfecta armonía con el propósito de conservar, preservar y promover activamente las raíces culturales y el folclor huilense en toda la comunidad.”
Ceremonia de Imposición de Símbolos 2026-1 del programa de enfermería.
La Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud y Ciencias Básicas llevó a cabo la Ceremonia de Imposición de Símbolos del programa de Enfermería, un acto solemne que marcó un momento significativo en la formación de los estudiantes de V semestre. Este espacio representó el inicio de una etapa decisiva en su vida profesional, en la que asumen de manera simbólica y formal su compromiso con el cuidado de la vida, la ética y el servicio a la sociedad.
Durante la ceremonia, que contó con la bendición del sacerdote Yesid Barrios, se realizó la imposición de la cofia, la placa y la lámpara, símbolos que evocan la historia, responsabilidad y vocación de la profesión. El evento, transmitido a través del canal oficial de YouTube de UNINAVARRA, permitió que familiares y amigos acompañaran este importante momento, resaltando el orgullo y apoyo hacia los futuros profesionales de la salud.
Orgullo Uninavarra en el Exterior: Excelencia e Investigación de Impacto Global en Enfermería
El cuerpo docente del Programa de Enfermería de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra UNINAVARRA está constituido por un equipo multidisciplinar de profesionales de la salud de la más alta cualificación, caracterizado por su liderazgo constante en la investigación científica y su compromiso con la transformación social.
Como reflejo de esta excelencia y del compromiso institucional con la investigación de impacto territorial, el docente Eduardo Mahecha Reyes, epidemiólogo y profesor de nuestro programa de Enfermería, representó con éxito a la institución en el Congreso Mundial sobre Atención Primaria de Salud y la Cumbre de Medicare, celebrado en París, Francia.
Quien participó mediante la presentación del póster de investigación titulado: “Mujeres indígenas embarazadas del municipio de Íquira-Huila y características de sus recién nacidos”. Este trabajo consistió en un riguroso estudio observacional y descriptivo enfocado en el periodo 2021-2022, el cual analizó en detalle las bases de datos de Estadísticas Vitales de la reserva indígena Nasa-Páez en el municipio de Íquira, Huila.

- Academic Mobility Management: Student exchange opportunities during one or two academic periods throughout the development of the student's academic program in different types of mobility such as: academic exchange (taking subjects), short course, internship, practicum, medical rotation, mission, research stay, observership and degree modalities. Teaching mobility as national and foreign visiting professors in your classroom.
- Multiculturalism and Multilingualism Management: Activities that contribute to the development of intercultural competencies and communicative competence in a foreign language, mainly English as a universal language.
- Management of the Internationalization of the Curriculum: Joint classes with other institutions through mirror class methodology or COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning).
