Program Presentation

UNINAVARRA's LAW program interrelates the curricular contents with the areas of private law, public law, and promotes interaction with other areas of knowledge, within a modern, pertinent and attractive proposal, with emphasis on practical aspects and with an offer of selection, organization, structuring, distribution and evaluation of learning, which corresponds to the reality and needs of the Central South Amazon Region.
The curricular contents and learning outcomes developed by the Law Program at UNINAVARRA are oriented to train professionals in the generation and updating of knowledge and in the acquisition of essential skills to understand, from the interaction of various disciplines, the importance of their area of knowledge, without neglecting its humanistic nature, studying the conducts that generate legal responsibility in this area and the situations that create risks that threaten the welfare of human beings, with a preventive and conciliatory approach, making available to the student the regulations, jurisprudential analysis, comparative law and doctrine.

We are a university community committed to the comprehensive training of lawyers, with social responsibility, entrepreneurial vision and international projection, based on autonomous learning, with the ability to generate and apply new knowledge for scientific, cultural, political and ethical development in the service of management and peaceful resolution of conflicts, under the principles of human dignity, orality, transparency and inclusion.

    ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

    Practical exercises where hearings and oral trials are developed, based on the solution of hypothetical or real cases. Activities carried out with the participation of other academic programs such as the specializations of Medical Law and Family Medicine, thus promoting collaborative work with other disciplines.
    An innovative teaching strategy, where film is used by the teacher as a multidisciplinary academic tool, in order to articulate the different spheres of disciplinary knowledge in spaces of reflection and awareness.
    Its purpose is to solve difficult cases through collaborative work between students, professors and invited experts. This space allows the development of complex thinking skills, argumentation and problem solving.
    The literary prose of Gabriel García Márquez and other Latin American authors is used as a pretext to understand the relationship between literature and law. The main purpose of this space is to use reading as a motive to reflect on human rights, encouraging students to read, analyze the context and think critically.
    We offer our students an entrepreneurship course that allows them to use the knowledge acquired in the construction and materialization of their business ideas.
    An avant-garde space that involves all academic programs of UNINAVARRA, promoting interdisciplinary learning and collaborative learning, implementing training in simulated environments to achieve meaningful learning.

    Entry Requirements

    The professional profile is based on four institutional pillars:

    • Personal profile, where personality traits of the applicants are evaluated to verify affinity with the entrance profile of each program.
    • Intellectual profile, where the degree of knowledge is evaluated and based on the Aptitude and Knowledge State Tests of the Colombian Institute for the Promotion of Higher Education (ICFES), minimum admission scores will be established for each program.
    • Attitudinal profile, determined in interview processes in which the Program Director will determine the affinity between the student and the formative requirements of the program.

    Professional Profile

    The profile of the UNINAVARRA graduate is a conjunction of three fundamental elements for the development of the human being: personal, professional and occupational profile.

    The graduate is critical and proactive, and proposes solutions to specific problems by applying science and technology. They are fully aware of the implications of their profession and their ethical vision is based on deontological training and classroom experience.     Occupational Profile

    The UNINAVARRA lawyer may work in the independent practice of law, as an advisor or consultant on legal issues, in private enterprise, in the public sector, in academia, as an official of the judicial branch, according to the skills and competencies developed within their academic training.

    Undergraduate Modalities

    The program has the following degree modalities established and approved for the Law program.

    In addition to the requirements established in the undergraduate regulations, students must opt for one of the following degree modalities in order to obtain the degree of Attorney at Law:

    • Judiciary
    • Legal Monograph.
    • Pre-gradual Deepening Course.
    • Business Practice or Social Service.

    We welcome the new Student Ambassadors of the Law Program of UNINAVARRA, who assumed their role on September 5, 2025 for the period 2025-2. They were selected for their leadership and spirit of service, they will be the voice and the communication bridge between their peers and the Direction of the Program, committing themselves to represent the values of the Institution.

    Her mission is fundamental: to mediate with empathy and strategic vision to generate an environment of growth and collaboration, as well as to propose initiatives that enrich the academic experience for all. With their dedication, we seek to strengthen the bonds of our university community and foster an environment of mutual respect. At UNINAVARRA, teamwork is our driving force, and together, with the support of our new ambassadors, we are ready to reach new goals.

    We celebrate the success of the students of the Law Program in the National Student Competition on Gender and Disability, organized by the Ministry of Justice and Law.

    It is with great pride that the Fundación Universitaria Navarra - UNINAVARRA, congratulates the students of the Law program for winning first place in the southern regional round of the National Competition on Gender and Disability. This achievement is a testimony to the commitment, preparation and academic excellence of our community.

    The institution is proud to accompany its team to the national grand final, which will be held on October 2 at the city of Bucaramanga, where we are sure they will continue to demonstrate the academic excellence and leadership that characterizes our university community.     Our students have taken an important step by appointing the new Student Ambassadors of the Law Program, who were sworn in on February 20, 2025. These young people, with their leadership and communication skills, have the responsibility to be the voice of all their peers, representing with honor and commitment the values of our University Institution. The ambassadors must have the talent to mediate between the Students and the Program, guided by empathy and vision to generate an environment of growth and collaboration.

    Ambassadors are challenged to contribute to improving the academic experience for all students, as well as to foster respect and cooperation among peers and professors. UNINAVARRA grows stronger when we work together, and this is a great time to show it.

    We lived an academic experience that goes beyond the conventional in our Law Program. This event is just a glimpse of how we are transforming legal education at our university. Recently, sixth semester students participated in a fascinating Mirror Class in Constitutional Procedural Law, where they broke down geographical boundaries to immerse themselves in the exciting world of the Inter-American Human Rights System, guided by renowned Dr. Arístides Peña. Our Mirror Classes represent our commitment to connect with experts from around the world, providing our students with a global and enriching perspective on the law. Discover how our classes challenge boundaries and prepare future leaders in the legal world.

    UNINAVARRA facing the world

    We have the Internationalization Policy “UNINAVARRA FACING THE WORLD” which aims to offer the academic community a bridge between the local environment and the globalized world. Through its lines of action it offers you opportunities for interaction with the national and international environment in classroom and online mode, where you can live training experiences in other contexts, interact with people from different cultures, learn about the global dynamics and its social, cultural, economic, environmental changes, among others; enhance your career with national and international projection and strengthen your training as a global professional and citizen of the world.

    Lines of action and opportunities:

    • International Cooperation Management: Agreements, alliances, joint projects and networking with more than 200 institutions from different countries around the world such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Spain, United States, Italy, Mexico, Peru, among others.
    • Academic Mobility Management: Student exchange opportunities during one or two academic periods throughout the development of the student's academic program in different types of mobility such as: Academic exchange (taking subjects), short course, internship, practicum, mission, research stay, observership and degree modalities. Teaching mobility as national and foreign visiting professors in your classroom.
    • Multiculturalism and Multilingualism Management: Activities that contribute to the development of intercultural competencies and communicative competence in a foreign language, mainly English as a universal language.
    • Management of the Internationalization of the Curriculum: Joint classes with other institutions through mirror class methodology or COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning).
