The objective of the “Support for Hospitalized Patients” axis is to contribute to the integral wellbeing of hospitalized patients, promoting the humanization of care, emotional strengthening and quality of life during their stay in health institutions. In addition, it fosters training with human sense in the students who participate in the interventions, who receive training in active listening and emotional support to offer meaningful accompaniment.

INPATIENT SUPPORT

Aimed at adult, pediatric and pediatric oncology patients, this axis aims to provide support during their hospitalization, improving their quality of life and facilitating their recovery. To this end, student volunteers are trained in active listening and emotional support, enabling them to offer companionship and support to those facing serious illnesses. In addition, recreational, cultural and educational activities are developed within the hospital, such as art, music and theater workshops, to create spaces of distraction and wellbeing for both patients and their families. Health education programs are also implemented, providing tools for self-care.

In the case of pediatric and pediatric oncology patients, the axis includes an educational accompaniment that allows them to continue their learning process while they are hospitalized, guaranteeing their academic and emotional development. In this way, a more humanized care is promoted, in which the emotional and social well-being of patients becomes a pillar.
