UNINAVARRA's Medicine Program is a face-to-face program, with emphasis on the formation of the physician with orientation in Primary Health Care and the biopsychosocial model, with a daytime schedule that leads to the degree of Physician.
UNINAVARRA's Medicine program is characterized by the following aspects:
- A medical program that is socially oriented towards the development of human, social and community training competencies.
- A medicine program that responds to a primary health care model -APS-regional, at all levels of care, where the groups and risk factors become a fundamental strategy to articulate preventive medicine in the framework of a Health Plan for the Southern Colombian region.
- A medical program that faces the desire to consolidate a model of care at all levels (primary, secondary and tertiary prevention), and identifies risk groups and factors, allowing the possibility of increasing the "endowment of qualified and trained human resources" to meet the demands with intervention strategies at the community level and interdisciplinary professional practice of the health team that works "with and for the community.
- An educational offer of a new medical program derived from the epidemiological diagnoses of the region and that orients its actions through self-learning and innovative criticism necessary to modify the health conditions of the population of the region and the country.
- Entrepreneurship: The concept of entrepreneurship is of the utmost importance not only in economic and development policies, but also because it has become a new trend in the academic world and more specifically in higher education. Many European HEIs have directed their policies focused on its promotion and development, with special emphasis on education and its role in this area (Green Paper on Entrepreneurship in Europe (2003).
