As part of the innovation process and the research project, the faculty council defined the strategic subjects that are part of the interdisciplinary simulation activities, which in addition to developing this high-fidelity interaction, have a significant increase in the number of hours devoted to simulation through the reassignment of credits for the subject.

Subjects of the Medicine Program

Current curriculum, which highlights the subjects based on the clinical practice component, prior to which students must perform and certify training activities in the simulated environment to strengthen the development of skills and competencies required at the time of the rotation in the real environment (Health Service Provider Institutions). GESELL OBSERVATION CHAMBERS

WHAT IS IT?

The Gesell type observation chamber consists of two rooms with an audio visual system, divided by a wall where there is a one-way mirror that allows to see what happens in one room from the other, without being noticed from the observed room because, in it, the subjects will only see the reflection of the mirror; achieving in this way, that people do not feel self-conscious, act spontaneously and naturally; in short, the effect of reactivity is not evidenced.

FUNCTION:
In the simulation clinic Hall HealthCare Center of the Navarra University Foundation - UNINAVARRA, the use of the Gesell type observation camera, allows professionals (teachers from different areas and biomedical engineers), to observe and sometimes intervene the student or students while developing a clinical case either interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary within the real simulated scenario, generating an environment of privacy, trust and continuous learning of competencies, skills and abilities for the university student.

Debriefing

Thanks to the existence of the cameras, the Debriefing activity can be carried out with the students.

WHAT IS IT and FUNCTION? It is an activity where participants in a controlled environment explore, analyze and synthesize their actions and thought processes, emotional states in order to improve performance in real situations. For debriefing practice to be most effective, educators should focus on the three components of planning, pre-summarizing and feedback.

Interdisciplinary Training Activities

Within the framework of innovation and continuous improvement, the research project is developed to demonstrate the effectiveness of interdisciplinary simulation activities, for which strategic subjects were determined in each of the institution's programs; which have topics related to the daily role of professionals in health institutions, which ensures a higher level of fidelity in each of the scenarios. The curricula of UNINAVARRA's programs are shown below, in which the selected subjects are highlighted.
