Presentation of the book: “Epidemiology and Biomedical Research: Pocket Manual”.

On February 7, 2026, the book Epidemiology and Biomedical Research: Pocket Manual was presented, a work that promotes training in scientific research and publication. Through a concise and didactic approach, it addresses the historical evolution of disease and epidemiology, demographic transitions, epidemiological indicators and the validity of diagnostic tests, integrating these contents with the fundamentals of the scientific method, bioethical considerations in research and recommendations for the writing and publication of manuscripts.

This work was led by the professors of the Medicine Program Ricardo Novoa, Elizabeth S. Perdomo and José Daniel Charry, with the support of the researchers Issi Margarita Quinto Herrera, E. Oswaldo Delgado Rivas and Dr. Thiago A. Navarro Álvarez.

Likewise, the gestation process of the text counted with the participation of the following medical students of our institution: Daniel Felipe Pérez, Juan Sebastián Pérez, Julián Esteban García, Kevin S. Ordoñez Rojas, Laura V. Cabrera Charry, Luana Sofía Olave, Maicol Stevel Quintero, M. Paula Hernández Farfán, María J. Fernández Tovar, Neily Yuliana Herrera Carrera, N. Sofía Castro, Santiago Medina Alvarado and Santiago Thomas Alcalá.
