La Fundación Universitaria Navarra – UNINAVARRA, a través del Programa de Ingeniería Industrial, continúa consolidando escenarios de formación innovadores y de alta pertinencia para sus estudiantes. En el marco de la alianza académica con el Hospital Universitario Simulado de Alta Complejidad (HUSAC), se desarrolló una práctica de simulación interdisciplinaria que permitió a los futuros ingenieros aplicar sus conocimientos en un contexto realista y altamente demandante. Esta actividad no solo responde al compromiso institucional de implementar metodologías pedagógicas innovadoras, sino que también constituye un espacio en el que se refuerzan la experiencia práctica, la toma de decisiones y la capacidad de trabajo en equipo, fundamentales en la formación integral de profesionales que deben enfrentar entornos complejos y dinámicos.

Durante la jornada, los estudiantes participaron en la resolución de un caso interdisciplinario de simulación hospitalaria, donde la ingeniería industrial se integró de manera activa con otros campos del conocimiento. El ejercicio se centró en la gestión de procesos de mantenimiento hospitalario, abarcando desde la identificación de fallas en equipos críticos hasta la planeación de acciones correctivas y preventivas. Este escenario les permitió vivenciar cómo la ingeniería se articula con la salud, al garantizar la continuidad operativa y la seguridad de los servicios médicos en instituciones de alta complejidad. La práctica, además, estimuló el análisis crítico, la aplicación de metodologías aprendidas en áreas como gestión de procesos, seguridad y salud en el trabajo, y logística, al tiempo que fortaleció competencias blandas como la comunicación efectiva, la coordinación interdisciplinaria y la resolución de problemas en tiempo real. Gracias al entorno controlado de la simulación, los estudiantes pudieron experimentar situaciones cercanas a la realidad sin poner en riesgo a personas ni equipos, lo que ratifica el valor de esta metodología como herramienta pedagógica transformadora.

El impacto de esta experiencia es significativo en la formación profesional de los ingenieros industriales de UNINAVARRA, pues les permite proyectarse como profesionales competentes para enfrentar los desafíos de sectores tan sensibles como el de la salud, donde la eficiencia, la seguridad y la innovación resultan determinantes. La Fundación Universitaria Navarra – UNINAVARRA, a través del Programa de Ingeniería Industrial, reafirma su compromiso con una educación práctica, integral y de calidad mediante la realización de visitas académicas que acercan a los estudiantes al mundo productivo. En esta oportunidad, los futuros ingenieros industriales participaron en una enriquecedora jornada en el Centro de Atención Local – Neiva, un espacio clave para el conocimiento del sector de hidrocarburos y sus implicaciones en el desarrollo social y económico de la región. Esta actividad, concebida como parte fundamental del plan de estudios, representa una oportunidad estratégica para vincular la teoría con la realidad, permitiendo a los estudiantes comprender de manera vivencial los retos y oportunidades de una industria que impacta directamente en la sostenibilidad, la innovación y el bienestar comunitario.

Durante la visita, los estudiantes tuvieron la posibilidad de acercarse a los procesos de extracción y producción de petróleo, reconociendo la diversidad de crudos que se generan y las complejidades técnicas que involucra esta operación. Asimismo, se familiarizaron con los sistemas de control de calidad y logística, pilares esenciales para garantizar eficiencia y sostenibilidad en una industria altamente regulada. Un valor agregado de esta experiencia fue el diálogo en torno a los proyectos sociales que acompañan la gestión empresarial, los cuales buscan generar un equilibrio entre productividad, responsabilidad ambiental y compromiso con las comunidades. Este contacto directo les permitió relacionar conocimientos adquiridos en asignaturas como gestión de procesos, seguridad y salud en el trabajo, sostenibilidad y responsabilidad social, con situaciones concretas del entorno productivo. La interacción con profesionales en ejercicio, quienes compartieron experiencias y perspectivas, enriqueció aún más la jornada, brindando a los estudiantes ejemplos tangibles de la aplicación de la ingeniería en la vida real.

El impacto de este tipo de experiencias trasciende el aprendizaje técnico, pues fortalece la formación integral de los futuros ingenieros industriales al sensibilizarlos sobre la importancia de asumir su rol con responsabilidad social, ética y visión sostenible. La visita al Centro de Atención Local – Neiva no solo afianza competencias profesionales, sino que también motiva a los estudiantes a proyectarse como agentes de cambio capaces de aportar soluciones innovadoras a los desafíos del sector y de la sociedad. La Fundación Universitaria Navarra – UNINAVARRA, a través de la Facultad de Ingenierías, Arquitectura y Urbanismo, la Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales y la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas, realizó un Desayuno Empresarial con Alcanos de Colombia S.A. E.S.P., en las instalaciones de la institución. Este espacio tuvo como propósito principal consolidar relaciones estratégicas entre la academia y el sector energético, promoviendo la vinculación universidad-empresa como motor para el desarrollo académico, investigativo y social del Huila. La jornada reafirma el compromiso de UNINAVARRA de ofrecer a sus estudiantes experiencias que trascienden el aula, generando puentes entre el conocimiento teórico y las necesidades reales de las empresas, y fortaleciendo así el impacto de la educación superior en la región.

Durante el encuentro se abordaron temas clave para la formación de los futuros profesionales, como oportunidades de cooperación para el desarrollo de prácticas empresariales, programas de formación, proyectos de investigación e innovación, así como estrategias que fortalezcan la empleabilidad y competitividad de los egresados. La reunión contó con la participación de directivos de UNINAVARRA y del gerente general de Alcanos de Colombia, Camilo Ernesto Lozano Hermida, quien destacó la importancia de abrir escenarios de colaboración para potenciar las capacidades técnicas y el talento humano en el territorio. El intercambio de ideas permitió identificar retos y oportunidades conjuntas, reafirmando el compromiso de ambas instituciones de trabajar articuladamente en favor del desarrollo sostenible e inclusivo.

Como parte de su compromiso con la excelencia académica y la formación integral, el Programa de Ingeniería Industrial de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra – UNINAVARRA realizó una visita académica a la empresa Concretos del Sur, ubicada en el municipio de Palermo, Huila. Esta actividad hace parte de las estrategias de aprendizaje práctico que promueve el programa, orientadas a acercar a los estudiantes a entornos reales de producción y gestión industrial. El objetivo de la jornada fue brindar a los futuros ingenieros industriales la oportunidad de conocer de primera mano los procesos, retos y buenas prácticas de una empresa referente en el sector de la construcción, fortaleciendo la articulación entre el conocimiento teórico adquirido en el aula y su aplicación en escenarios productivos.

Durante la visita, los estudiantes recorrieron las diferentes áreas de la planta, observando detalladamente el proceso de producción del concreto, desde la recepción de materias primas hasta la entrega del producto final. También conocieron el sistema de gestión de calidad implementado por la compañía, orientado al cumplimiento de normas técnicas y a la satisfacción de los clientes. La jornada permitió resaltar la importancia de las prácticas de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (SST), evidenciando la correcta utilización de equipos de protección personal y los protocolos establecidos para minimizar riesgos laborales. De igual forma, la logística interna —desde el almacenamiento hasta la distribución del concreto— fue un aspecto clave que captó la atención de los estudiantes. La interacción con ingenieros y operarios de la empresa enriqueció la experiencia, al permitirles resolver inquietudes, comprender el impacto de la eficiencia en la operación y valorar el trabajo colaborativo como base del éxito en la industria.

Estas experiencias constituyen un eje fundamental en la formación de competencias profesionales, al permitir que los estudiantes experimenten, analicen y planteen soluciones en escenarios reales. Asimismo, generan motivación y refuerzan la visión del ingeniero industrial como agente de cambio en el desarrollo económico y social de la región. La visita a Concretos del Sur no solo fortaleció el aprendizaje práctico, sino que también consolidó los vínculos entre la universidad y el sector productivo, abriendo la puerta a futuras oportunidades de prácticas, proyectos de investigación aplicada y alianzas estratégicas. Reinducción 2025: Un compromiso renovado con la excelencia y el liderazgo estudiantil

La Facultad de Ingenierías, Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra – UNINAVARRA llevó a cabo la reinducción de sus estudiantes, una jornada estratégica que reafirmó el sentido de pertenencia y fortaleció los lazos de integración con la vida universitaria. Este espacio, diseñado para inspirar y orientar, reunió a estudiantes de Ingeniería Industrial e Ingeniería Ambiental en un encuentro que no solo consolidó su vínculo con la institución, sino que también ratificó el compromiso de la Facultad con la calidad académica y el bienestar integral de su comunidad. Con un ambiente participativo y motivador, la actividad marcó el inicio de un nuevo ciclo académico lleno de retos, oportunidades y crecimiento personal y profesional.

Durante la jornada, los asistentes recibieron información clave para su desarrollo académico y personal. Se presentaron las características y fortalezas de cada programa, así como el Reglamento Estudiantil, herramienta esencial para la convivencia y la claridad en derechos y deberes. También se socializaron los protocolos de prevención y atención de violencias, reafirmando el compromiso institucional con un campus seguro, respetuoso e inclusivo. Bienestar Universitario y Egresados expusieron sus servicios y beneficios, enfocados en la salud física y mental, el deporte, la cultura y la formación integral. Además, se compartió información complementaria sobre apoyo académico, actividades extracurriculares y oportunidades de proyección profesional. Estos contenidos, más allá de ser informativos, promovieron la participación activa, la convivencia armónica y la corresponsabilidad de los estudiantes en la construcción de su experiencia universitaria.

El impacto de esta reinducción se refleja en estudiantes más informados, participativos y conscientes de su papel como agentes de cambio. Jornadas como esta fortalecen el compromiso de la Facultad con la excelencia académica, el respeto por la diversidad y el trabajo colaborativo como base del aprendizaje. Al cierre del encuentro, el mensaje fue claro: cada estudiante es protagonista de su proceso formativo y tiene en sus manos el poder de transformar su entorno con liderazgo, innovación y responsabilidad social. Con actitud proactiva y visión de futuro, la comunidad estudiantil de la Facultad de Ingenierías, Arquitectura y Urbanismo inicia el semestre con la certeza de que, en UNINAVARRA, su formación trasciende el aula para impactar positivamente en la sociedad.

“Un Día como Ingeniero”: Inspirando vocaciones y construyendo futuros desde el colegio

Con el propósito de acercar la educación superior a los jóvenes del departamento del Huila y despertar vocaciones profesionales desde temprana edad, la Facultad de Ingenierías, Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra UNINAVARRA, llevó a cabo la actividad “Un Día como Ingeniero”, en alianza con la Institución Educativa San Juan Bosco de Palermo, Huila. La jornada estuvo dirigida a estudiantes de los grados décimo y once, quienes vivieron una experiencia inmersiva en los campos de la Ingeniería Industrial y la Ingeniería Ambiental. Esta iniciativa busca fortalecer el vínculo entre la academia y la comunidad educativa regional, promoviendo el acceso a una educación de calidad y visibilizando el papel clave de la ingeniería en la transformación social y productiva del territorio.

Durante la jornada, los estudiantes participaron en actividades prácticas, visitas guiadas, laboratorios interactivos y charlas inspiradoras, que les permitieron conocer de forma vivencial qué significa ser ingeniero y cómo esta profesión responde a los desafíos del mundo actual. Acompañados por docentes de la facultad, exploraron campos como el diseño de procesos sostenibles, el uso eficiente de los recursos, la gestión ambiental y la innovación tecnológica. La experiencia fue enriquecedora no solo en lo académico, sino también en lo personal, pues les permitió fortalecer su proyecto de vida, descubrir nuevas opciones de formación profesional y sentirse parte activa de un entorno universitario motivador e inclusivo.

“Un Día como Ingeniero” evidenció el compromiso de UNINAVARRA con una educación transformadora y reafirmó la importancia de generar espacios de orientación profesional temprana que contribuyan al cierre de brechas y a la democratización del acceso a la educación superior. El impacto de esta actividad se reflejó en el entusiasmo, la participación activa y las reflexiones de los estudiantes, quienes agradecieron la oportunidad y manifestaron mayor claridad y motivación en su camino académico. Cultural Dialogues: Culture of Mexico - Durango and Durango, a meeting to strengthen respect, inclusion and intercultural cooperation

The School of Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning of the Navarra University Foundation UNINAVARRA was the setting for the "Cultural Dialogues: Culture of Mexico - Durango and Durango" conversation."This initiative demonstrated the power of education as a bridge between cultures and as a tool for the construction of a more empathetic, just and sustainable world. This space was led by Iliana Alexa Pérez Rivera and Leslie Chirino, Mexican exchange students from the Environmental Engineering program, who shared with students, professors and directors a vivid and authentic vision of their culture, traditions, values and personal experiences as academic ambassadors of their country.

The discussion was more than a cultural exhibition: it became a transformative pedagogical experience that promoted the exchange of knowledge and mutual respect between different social realities. Through stories, artistic expressions and an open dialogue with the university community, the event highlighted the importance of cultural diversity as a driver of sustainable development. In this sense, it contributed to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 - Quality Education, by promoting intercultural learning; SDG 10 - Reducing Inequalities, by making visible diverse ways of life and cultural realities; SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by strengthening respect and peaceful coexistence; and SDG 17 - Partnerships to Achieve the Goals, by fostering the creation of networks between institutions and social actors.

This type of initiative reaffirms UNINAVARRA's commitment to a global, critical and humanistic higher education, where the recognition of the other is prioritized and opportunities for collaborative work between cultures are built. The active participation of the Mexican students, as well as the receptiveness of the academic community, demonstrated that interculturality not only enriches knowledge, but also strengthens the values that sustain a democratic and equitable society. Navegando con Seguridad: UNINAVARRA promotes the responsible use of social networks among young people from Huila

In a context where digital life occupies a central place in social and educational dynamics, the Industrial Engineering program of the Navarra University Foundation UNINAVARRA developed the project "Navegando con Seguridad: Charlas sobre el uso responsable de las redes sociales", a training initiative implemented in the educational institution Colegio Nacional Santa Librada in the municipality of Neiva - Huila. This project, aimed at tenth and eleventh grade students, had the purpose of raising awareness among young people about digital risks, promoting a culture of prevention and strengthening skills for the safe, healthy and conscious use of digital platforms.

During the development of the strategy, participating students were able to identify and apply key privacy and security measures, such as proper password management, profile configuration and recognition of impersonation or fraud attempts. The dynamic activities also provided opportunities for reflection on cyberbullying and toxic online behavior, enabling adolescents to recognize warning signs, understand the emotional and social consequences of these phenomena, and adopt self-protection and digital solidarity behaviors. The workshops also included practical tools to promote balance in the use of time on social networks, inviting young people to develop healthy routines that allow them to use their time productively and maintain a healthy relationship with technology.

The impact of this project transcends the academic, consolidating itself as an intervention with high social value, where future industrial engineers of UNINAVARRA apply their knowledge from a pedagogical, preventive and community approach. The interdisciplinary nature of the exercise allowed university students to integrate competencies in communication, project management, risk analysis and critical thinking, within the framework of their professional training. In addition, the link between the university and the community was strengthened, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the integral development of the region. The success of the project demonstrates that engineering also has a human and social face, and that its application can positively transform educational environments through prevention and digital education.

En un ejercicio de internacionalización del conocimiento, los programas de Ingeniería Industrial de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra UNINAVARRA y el programa homólogo de la Universidad de La Salle llevaron a cabo una clase espejo centrada en Salud Ocupacional y Seguridad Industrial. Esta jornada académica permitió el intercambio de saberes entre estudiantes de Colombia y México, fortaleciendo competencias técnicas, pensamiento crítico y una visión más amplia del ejercicio profesional.

La clase fue concebida como una experiencia colaborativa donde se profundizó en el uso adecuado del Equipo de Protección Personal (EPP), la prevención de riesgos laborales y las estrategias para combatir incendios en entornos industriales. Los estudiantes compartieron prácticas, normativas y casos aplicados, logrando una integración efectiva entre teoría y práctica.

Además del componente técnico, el encuentro fomentó el trabajo colaborativo, la comunicación efectiva y la empatía profesional, aspectos clave en el liderazgo industrial. Esta iniciativa responde a los lineamientos de formación con calidad y proyección internacional de UNINAVARRA, alineándose con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), especialmente el ODS 4 (Educación de calidad) 8 (Trabajo decente y crecimiento económico) y 17 (Alianzas para lograr el objetivo), reafirmando el compromiso institucional con metodologías activas, educación transformadora y pertinente frente a los retos globales.

The Navarra University Foundation - UNINAVARRA continues to consolidate its innovative educational model with interdisciplinary simulation practices that significantly impact the training of its future industrial engineers.

En el marco de su compromiso con la calidad académica y la formación integral, estudiantes del Programa de Ingeniería Industrial de la Fundación Universitaria Navarra han participado activamente en prácticas de simulación en el Hospital Universitario Simulado de Alta Complejidad – HUSAC, un escenario académico de última generación que permite replicar situaciones reales del entorno hospitalario, administrativo y logístico del sector salud y otros sectores productivos.

These simulation sessions represent a powerful pedagogical strategy based on active and meaningful learning, where students apply knowledge acquired in areas such as process management, time and motion analysis, occupational health and safety, hospital logistics, human talent management and continuous improvement, among others.

Simulation is presented as a safe and controlled learning space, where students have the opportunity to experience scenarios that would be difficult to replicate in a real environment for reasons of cost, risk or logistics. Thanks to this methodology, future engineers develop technical and soft skills, strengthening their capacity for analysis, critical thinking, teamwork, leadership and decision making under pressure.

HUSAC, as an academic platform, allows the integration of various disciplines and simulates everything from patient flows, biosecurity protocols, to supply and resource management processes, providing a realistic perspective of the challenges faced by modern organizations.

This initiative not only responds to the curricular objectives of the program, but also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), by promoting relevant, technology-based education adapted to the current needs of the productive sector.

With the firm purpose of consolidating a participatory academic environment, close and focused on continuous improvement, the School of Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism of the University Foundation Navarra (UNINAVARRA) held a new edition of "A Coffee with the Dean", a space designed to listen, discuss and build, hand in hand with students, alumni and faculty of the Industrial Engineering and Environmental Engineering program.

In an informal but deeply reflective atmosphere, this meeting is positioned as an effective and close communication strategy between the Faculty's management and its academic community. Beyond a simple conversation, "A Coffee with the Dean"is a participatory management space that seeks to identify needs, propose solutions and strengthen the comprehensive training of future engineers.

The event was led by the Dean of the Faculty, accompanied by program directors and student representatives, who shared their experiences, concerns and proposals. Key issues addressed were the quality of training, the relevance of the curriculum, the strengthening of practical skills and academic support.

Interaction with graduates was also fundamental, as they provided an external and updated vision of the labor context, which enriches the program's feedback and strengthens its relevance to the demands of the productive environment.

Topics such as the implementation of laboratories, the promotion of applied research projects and the creation of agreements with companies in the region were among the proposals discussed.

"Mathematics in 3D: From Algebra to Reality", a project that transforms education from engineering and technology.

The Fundación Universitaria Navarra, through the Industrial Engineering program, successfully carried out the project "Mathematics in 3D: From Algebra to Reality" at the Misael Pastrana Borrero Educational Institution in the municipality of Rivera. This pedagogical and technological initiative brought together university professors, industrial engineering students and 9th grade students, with a common purpose: to demonstrate that learning mathematics can be a practical, visual and innovative experience.

The project, designed and led by UNINAVARRA's School of Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, sought to connect the abstract concepts of algebra with real applications through 3D design and printing tools. Through dynamic sessions, high school students not only understood key mathematical principles, but also managed to translate them into tangible and functional three-dimensional models.

"The experience was transformative. Seeing how the students, at first afraid of mathematics, ended up excited when they printed their own designs, confirms to us that education needs more connections with reality," said one of the Industrial Engineering program professors who led the training process.

Among the most outstanding achievements of the project are:
Understanding and application of elementary mathematical concepts through three-dimensional modeling.
Developing skills in the use of CAD design software and 3D printing technology, sparking interest in STEM careers.
