Prevention of psychoactive substance use
The consumption of other psychoactive substances, such as stimulants (energizers, cocaine), depressants (alcohol, benzodiazepines) or opioids, have specific effects on brain chemistry.
For example, chocolate stimulates the release of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, producing feelings of pleasure and well-being. In contrast, hallucinogens such as LSD or psilocybin mushrooms affect the function of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, causing changes in perception, mood and cognition.
The use of psychoactive substances can have a significant impact on our mental health in the short and long term. It is essential to educate ourselves about the risks associated with these substances and to seek help if we are experiencing difficulties related to their use. By taking steps to take care of our mental health, we can improve our quality of life and overall well-being.
